The staff were wonderful, so friendly and approachable. They were all great with our almost 2 year old daughter, the manager went above and beyond at our last breakfast by putting Bluey on the TV for her so we could finish eating our breakfast. Our room was nice for a dog friendly family room and we loved being in the courtyard area rather than being in the main building, so we had our own acess which made it easier with the dog and bringing our things in and out. We were disapointed with the cleanliness of our bathroom, it was a bit tierd and tatty. Some patches of mould and the taps and shower head over the bath didn't look like they'd been cleaned and seemed quite limescaley. Along with orange mould on the tiles and bath itself. The sink and toilet were fine it was mainly the bath, so we were put off using it and put it down to the fact its a dog/family room so is likely to be messier, so didn't complain as it was a tiny flaw in an otherwise great room. Would have given a 10 overall if the bathroom had been better. We discovered we could pay £15 for a 12pm check out which we arranged at dinner on our first night, would 100% reccommend doing that if you have kids, gives you so much extra time. The parking at the hotel was very tiny and you had to be lucky to get a space, probably only room for 5 cars. No car parks, so you have to park on the road in the 2hr spots, which was fine over night as it wasn't limited,, but a challenge for the day time when you came back from a trip. We were lucky to bag a space in the hotel car park on our 2nd day and decided not to move until we left, to make it easier for check out. We had both our evening meals at the resturant in the hotel. Delicious food and reasonably priced, the childrens menu was simple but great portions. Our daughter is not a potato fan, but had chips both nights!! Puds were delish. Breakfast was good in the mornings as well, with great variety.

I was greeted with a smile on a very busy evening due to Xmas market taking place and time given to explain meals etc. Made feel welcome and given a table to eat my evening meal at even though there was a band that evening they squeezed me in. The room had a fan heater for extra warmth, the only thing I could say that disturbed my stay was the gravel/shingle under my bedroom window and hearing people walking around outside but like I said it was a busy evening in the village. Due to the events from the night before the morning staff were a little behind but extremely apologetic and accommodating.

The breakfast was freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. The food at The George was freshly prepared and if a high standard. Good range of choices for all meals. Wish we could have eaten there more. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant throughout our stay, they couldn’t have done more to make our stay enjoyable. Very relaxed atmosphere. The hotel was decorated for Christmas which was loved by the 18 month in our party.

Wide selection of items for breakfast, all of which were well cooked and presented. Very friendly staff. Central location. Nice to have an iron and ironing board as well as hair dryer. Although only a few spaces in car park there were plenty in nearby streets, provided you headed off by 10:00 am.

The building is an old coaching house. Which is Listed. It is therefore quirky. The room I had was comfortable and warm. The main light worked when it felt like it. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were great. The location is ideal for the area.
